Terms of Use

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These terms set out the conditions for using Kage English ("the App"), an app for learning English provided by tepgu consulting K.K. ("we", "us"). In Japan the App is published as ペラ英会話 (formerly ペラペラ英語). By using the App you agree to these terms.

The App is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The terms below add the points that are specific to this App.

1. The service

The App helps you learn English through shadowing practice, AI pronunciation scoring and feedback, AI role-play conversations, a dictionary and word list, and native-voice playback. We may change features as we improve the App.

2. Accounts and age

You can use the App without registering (guest account). If you sign in with Apple or Google, you can keep your data when you change devices. The App is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian. In countries where the law sets a higher age for agreeing to the use of personal information, younger users need a parent's or guardian's consent (see the Privacy Policy).

3. Free version and Pro

In the free version, each feature can be used a limited number of times per day or per month. The limits are shown in the App. The paid subscription "Kage English Pro" (ペラ英会話 Pro in Japan) raises these limits and gives access to native voices (including HD voices), AI pronunciation scoring, the daily practice text and the text library. To keep use fair and to prevent excessive load, Pro also has daily limits.

4. Subscriptions

5. AI features

Pronunciation scores, feedback, conversations, dictionary entries, translations and example sentences are generated automatically by AI. They may contain mistakes. A pronunciation score is a guide for your learning; it does not certify your level of English or predict an exam result. Check the content yourself before relying on it for anything important, such as an exam, your work or a contract.

6. What you must not do

If you break these rules we may restrict your use of the App.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design, its logo and its learning materials belong to us or to their rightful owners. The texts you enter remain yours. You allow us to process them to the extent needed to provide the App.

8. Changes and interruptions

We may change or suspend all or part of the App for maintenance, because of a fault or a problem at a provider we depend on, or for other reasons we cannot avoid. If we end the service, we will announce it in advance.

9. Warranty and liability

Warranties and liability for the App are as set out in the Standard EULA.

If you use the App as a consumer, you keep all the rights that the mandatory consumer protection law of your country gives you. These terms do not take them away.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we announce the change and the date it takes effect on this page and in the App. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the App and cancel your subscription.

11. Governing law and courts

The governing law and the competent courts are as set out in the Standard EULA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live.

12. Language

These terms are published in several languages. For users in Japan the Japanese version prevails. For all other users the English version prevails if the versions differ, unless the law of your country gives priority to the version in your language.
